Avril Lavigne Says She's 'Old-Fashioned'
By Michelle Ward

She may not dress the part, but punk princess Avril Lavigne is really an old-fashioned girl – when it comes to relationships.

Does beau, Brody Jenner fit that bill? Lavigne tells the November issue of Maxim, on sale Oct. 12, "I like a classy man, a gentleman who opens the door and gives flowers and always puts the lady first. I'm a little old-fashioned like that."

The singer, 26, who recently divorced Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, 30, is ready to release a new album, which she admits is inspired by her personal life but, "is the first that is not boy bashing."

Not that her life is drama-free. A regular target of the paparazzi, Lavigne has been snapped leaving nightclubs with Jenner, something she says she rarely does.

"The only time I really ever get photographed is if I decide to go out with my friends to a bar or club, so ... it kind of looks like I do that more than I do, " she says, "The majority of the time I stay in."

Lavigne does take tabloid reporting in stride saying, "You can only laugh at it and roll your eyes because it's like, "Really?" They usually just pull that stuff out of their ass, but I think people know that."

When asked how she stays out of trouble amidst some of the notable teen star meltdowns, the Canadian native credits her roots, "I got here on my own. I came from a small town and grew up in a regular home. I know what I've worked hard for. I've seen a lot of people who have gone a little crazy and who are really into the Hollywood scene. I don't really like to hang out with people like that.

Clad in Converse sneakers and baggy skater jeans, punk-tinged rocker Avril Lavigne burst onto the music scene at 16 with pop songs "Complicated" and "Sk8er Boi."

Though in her early days she made headlines for her verbal clashes with pop's Hilary Duff and Britney Spears, the petite singer refined her image by donning Chanel couture and appearing in fashion spreads for Harper's Bazaar.

The Canadian beauty even donned a custom-made ivory Vera Wang gown for her July 2006 wedding to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley. But after three years of marriage, the singer filed for divorce from her husband.

Audrina Patridge

Being Lauren Conrad's BFF made Heidi Montag a star. But when Montag chose her trouble-making beau Spencer Pratt over Conrad, Audrina Patridge stepped in for the "brainwashed" blonde. The hot-bodied brunette was at Conrad's side when Pratt spread those nasty sex tape rumors, but behind the scenes Patridge had her own scandal brewing.

Just as her profile was rising on the MTV hit in 2008, nude photos of a pre-fame Patridge surfaced online. But the brouhaha only seemed to catapult her into stardom: Patridge – with her killer bikini body in tow – signed a deal to star in her own reality show and flaunted her physique on Dancing with the Stars, before ultimately bidding farewell to The Hills in 2010.
Ashley Tisdale Wants a Guy with More Than Good LooksBy
Tim Nudd

If cute is all you've got, you won't get far with Ashley Tisdale.

"In high school, it was all about popularity, being with the boyfriend and all the girls thinking he's cute," the star of the new cheerleading show Hellcats (which premiered Wednesday on the CW) says of her dating habits in Seventeen's October issue, on newsstands Sept. 14.

These days, it's not just about looks. "I am more into a guy's personality," says Tisdale, 25. "I like someone I can have fun with and who can be more laid-back than I am, because it calms me down."

The actress-singer, who's been dating Scott Speer, a music-video director, since 2009, has two more requirements: "I want to be with someone who wants to work as much as I do and who respects me like I respect him."

Meanwhile, Tisdale's Hellcats costar, Aly Michalka, has a more unusual message for potential suitors – if you're into her, you should be into her sister, too.

"I still live at home when I am in L.A., I'm really close to my family, I have a busy life, and I'm super-close to my sister – so basically if you date me, you date her," says Michalka, 21. "And he's either into it or he's not."

Currently, Michalka is single, but she's definitely looking. "I'm so ready to have boyfriend," she says. "I just need to find that guy who's worthy of committing myself to, because I'm not your average girl."

Tweens first embraced Ashley Tisdale as sweet babysitter Maddie on Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. But it wasn't until she went snooty as super-snob, super-spoiled Sharpay Evans in High School Musical that Tisdale became a household name.

Discovered at a New Jersey mall at age 3, Tisdale got her start in commercials before starring in productions of Les Misérables and Annie. Then came Disney stardom with The Suite Life and High School Musical, which took Tisdale and her HSM costars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens to the big screen with High School Musical 3.

After making a splash with her debut album Headstrong, Tisdale kissed goodbye to Sharpay and took on the world of cheerleading in the CW series Hellcats.

Anne Hathaway Has 'No Trouble' with Nude Scenes
By Alison Schwartz

When it comes to finding her Prince Charming, the ultimate on-screen princess, Anne Hathaway, has just one deal-breaker.

"Uh … fraud?" she tells Vogue magazine in its November issue.

It's something she can joke about now, more than two years after her ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, pleaded guilty to 14 counts of money laundering, conspiracy and wire fraud. Besides, she has bigger things to worry about – like the steamy sex scenes she shares with Jake Gyllenhaal in her upcoming film Love and Other Drugs.

RELATED: Anne Hathaway Debuts Dramatic New Look

"These are people who have no trouble taking their clothes off – in a way their bodies are their currency," the actress, 27, says of her nude scenes with Gyllenhaal. "But they're terrified of exposing their vulnerability – of becoming emotionally naked."

But that's just what she became while shooting scenes for the film, which hits theaters Nov. 24. The romantic comedy is built around the importance of trust in a relationship, and she said she couldn't escape the memories of her ex when she read the script.

"I was a wreck from start to finish," she says. "I think I cried every single day ... Gosh, I hate talking about the breakup, because I don't want it to define me, but as is to be expected, there were a lot of lingering trust issues, and I think that making a film about trust that required a great deal of trust – well, it was a challenge to get there."

But it's something she's working on – with her current beau, actor Adam Shulman, 29, who she was first spotted with in June 2009.

"When I begin a relationship, there's that pressure to be the most, to be more comfortable and open than anyone else," she says. "When you finally realize that you can just be your own scared, f-ked-up self and that you can still be sexy without trying to be, it's such a great relief – when uncondensed you is enough."

Little girls – and their moms – fell in love with Anne Hathaway as the frumpy teen who learns she's royalty in Disney's sleeper hit, The Princess Diaries. But Hathaway found herself typecast as the royal girl-next-door (Ella Enchanted and Princess Diaries 2) until she shed her tiara – and her clothes – to play a gay cowboy's wife in Ang Lee's Oscar darling, Brokeback Mountain.

After her critically acclaimed performance opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in Brokeback, Hathaway shared the screen with acting legend Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada. In 2007, the pretty brunette was named one of PEOPLE's Most Beautiful and played Jane Austen in Becoming Jane.

In 2008, the spotlight turned to Hathaway's heartbreak, as her boyfriend Raffaello Follieri was arrested on numerous fraud and money laundering charges. After their split, she shined as a recovering drug addict in Rachel Getting Married, nabbing her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.
True Blood Finale Shows Bill Compton's True Colors

Always pay attention to your instincts. That's what Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) learned on the season finale of True Blood Sunday.

Earlier in the season, Sookie wondered if she could really trust her on-again, off-again vampire beau Bill Compton, played by Paquin's real-life husband Stephen Moyer.

After Sunday, it seems like the answer is no – or is it?

SPOILER ALERT!

In an episode filled with spectacular bloodshed and surprising deaths, Bill unceremoniously tries to kill Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) by covering him with cement.

Bill later tells Sookie what he's done, claiming it was only to protect her – because she is part fairy and in great demand among vampires who crave her blood.

Just as Bill seems to be winning Sookie over, Eric comes back from his concrete tomb and reveals Bill's original intention behind courting Sookie: He was sent by the Queen of Louisiana (Evan Rachel Wood). Eric also points out that during their initial meeting, Bill allowed Sookie to get nearly beaten to death so that he could swoop in to save her by giving her his blood, which helped her heal and would give the two a bond.

Devastated to learn of Bill's deception, Sookie screams and throws him out, though he weeps bloody tears and swears he still loves her.

So can Bill be trusted? One of True Blood's many cliffhangers includes an apparent battle to death between Bill and the Queen who wants Sookie – and her blood – for herself.

Anna Paquin has a knack for starring in coveted projects, from the blockbuster (X-Men trilogy) to the cult favorite (True Blood) – but there's more to this actress than the sum of her supernatural parts.

The former child star, who grew up in New Zealand, kick started her career by answering a newspaper ad to play Holly Hunter's daughter in The Piano. That role earned Paquin an Academy Award at 11. Since then, she's played literary heroine Jane Eyre, a rock groupie in Almost Famous and most recently, a telepathic barmaid in the HBO hit True Blood.

The bloodsucking drama, which has been credited for reviving HBO's ratings, introduced Paquin to actor Stephen Moyer, whom she married in August 2010.
Anna Nicole Smith's Boyfriend Found Guilty in Drug Case
By Howard Breuer

He was once Anna Nicole Smith's lawyer, confidant, reality show costar and lover.

Now Howard K. Stern has another label: convicted felon.

A Los Angeles Superior Court jury on Thursday found Stern guilty of two counts of conspiracy for fueling the starlet's raging prescription drug problem that ultimately killed her.

One of her doctors, Khristine Eroshevich, was also convicted of four charges; a second doctor, Sandeep Kapoor, was cleared of all counts.

The six-man, six-woman jury heard two months of testimony in the case of Stern, 41, and doctors Kapoor, 42, and Eroshevich, 62, who were charged with multiple felonies for allegedly conspiring to furnish prescription drugs to an addict.
The Case Against Them
The three were not charged with Smith's 2007, death from a prescription overdose in Florida at age 39.

Deputy District Attorney Renee Rose had said the defendants "knew what they were doing was wrong" and that "their conduct was unlawful."

Defense attorneys argued that the charges were arbitrary and there were no warnings to heed. Smith's daughter, Dannielynn, now 4, was not born drug addicted, they said, and Smith didn't have "any Lindsay Lohan incidents."

Stern, the longtime lawyer for Smith and a familiar face to viewers of E!'s Anna Nicole Show, pledged his love to her in Sept. 2006, months before her tragic death and only days after the death of Smith's son, Daniel.

Stern was convicted of a count of conspiring to prescribe prescription drugs using fraudulent means and a count of conspiring to furnish prescription drugs to an addict.

He was acquitted of seven other charges, including another conspiracy charge and charges of unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance and obtaining a prescription for an opiate using false information.

Eroshevich, a psychiatrist, was convicted of four charges, including the same two conspiracy charges that Stern was convicted of, as well as two counts of obtaining a prescription for opiates using a false name.

Each of them face three or more years in prison at their Jan. 6 sentencing, says a spokeswoman for the DA's office.

Kapoor, a medical doctor, called his acquittal on all six charges against him, "a victory for patients everywhere who suffer with chronic pain."

A Texas stripper turned Playboy Playmate, model and E! reality star, Anna Nicole Smith lived out a flamboyant rags-to-riches story before her sudden death on Feb. 8, 2007. The buxom blonde became a national curiosity in 1994 when she married 89-year-old oil billionaire J. Howard Marshall II, who died after 13 months of marriage, and set in motion a long legal battle over his estate.

In September 2006, after Smith gave birth to daughter, Dannielynn, her 20-year-old son Daniel, the product of a pre-fame Texas marriage, died from ingesting a lethal mixture of medications. Compounding her woes, Smith was hit with a paternity test by ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead, but she disputed his claim and held a commitment ceremony to her lawyer Howard K. Stern.

However, after Smith's death, DNA test results proved that Birkhead is Dannielynn's father, and Stern and two doctors were charged with conspiring to illegally supply Smith with pills, enabling her fatal drug habit.

Before making house with movie star Brad Pitt, Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie didn't have a problem generating headlines solo: She shared a shocking kiss with her brother, had bisexual interludes with a Calvin Klein model and wore a vial of ex-husband Billy Bob Thorton's blood around her neck.

Of late, though, the bee stung-lipped wild child has transformed into a globe-trotting U.N. goodwill ambassador and mother of six – three of them adopted (Maddox, Pax and Zahara) and three (daughter Shiloh and twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline) conceived with Pitt, with whom she shares the frenzy that is ''Brangelina.''

Amy Winehouse Steps Out with Dapper New Beau
By Simon Perry

Is Amy Winehouse turning over a new leaf?

In March she was spotted locking lips with troubled ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil – but now she’s spending time with a new dapper guy.

The singer and moviemaker Reg Traviss, who directed the British film Psychosis, were pictured strolling together, holding hands and smooching in London's swanky Mayfair district this week.

RELATED: Amy Winehouse and Ex-Husband Rekindle Their Romance

Winehouse’s father Mitch told Scottish TV show The Hour that is he totally behind his daughter's new man. "I am happy she's got a new boyfriend, I am happy she's moving on with her life," he said.

And Winehouse, 26, is also working on a new album, which her record company – and her family – hope will be released this year. "It's in the pipeline and she's working on it right now," her father, 59, told PEOPLE at the launch party for his own album Rush of Love.

Amy Winehouse is only 5'2", but with her swoosh of black eyeliner and towering beehive – which she calls her "secret weapon"– she's larger than life. But it'll take more than a killer 'do to defeat this talented songbird's demons.

Back to Black – a brutally honest retelling of her breakup with Blake Fielder-Civil – has sold more than 3.3 million copies. But in 2007, the brilliant Brit was hospitalized for a drug overdose, checked into – and out of – rehab, and got busted for drug possession. She reunited with and married Fielder-Civil, only to have him hauled off to jail (they have since divorced and once again reunited).

In January 2008, Winehouse entered rehab weeks before winning five Grammys, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist.

America Ferrera: Working on Fiancé's Film Was Like Giving Birth
By Michelle Ward

America Ferrera and Ryan Piers Williams are engaged, but lately they have been focusing on some very parental duties, according to the Ugly Betty star.

Williams wrote and directed The Dry Land, which stars Ferrera, who also executive produced. Based on war veterans affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the film "certainly is his baby, and I feel like I've been here to get to witness it," Ferrera told PEOPLE at last week's premiere of the movie in Los Angeles. "It's a little bit like he had the pregnancy and I'm holding his hand through Lamaze."

Meanwhile, their active work schedules have left the couple little time for wedding planning. "If there is a scale between 0 and 10, I'm at like negative 10," Ferrara says. "I haven't gone there and [am] not thinking about it. We got engaged and then left for Iraq the next day."

PHOTOS: Hollywood Brides-to-Be!

Ferrera, 26, and Williams are comfortable working together: In fact, their courtship began after he cast her in his student film at USC. "We kind of connected from the get-go on that professional level and that was something that really drew us to each other, a shared passion for what we do and our work," she says.

Although the pair kept business and pleasure separate on the Dry Land set, news of their upcoming nuptials wasn't a surprise to many. "They obviously love each other a lot," says costar Jason Ritter. "[When they got engaged] I was over the moon, thrilled, I love them."

Like their professional relationship, the wedding planning – when the time comes – will be a partnership. "We both talk about it," Ferrara adds. "It's so crazy because right now the only thing I'm sure of is that there will be a cake and music!"
Amanda Bynes Reverses Decision to Quit the Biz
By Stephen M. Silverman

Amanda Bynes's message going into this weekend was brief: "I've unretired," the 24-year-old Tweeted – apparently reversing her month-old announcement that the funny everygirl on Nickelodeon's sketch comedy series All That and her self-titled spin-off had decided to leave showbiz.

"Being an actress isn't as fun as it may seem," Bynes wrote in June. "If I don't love something anymore, I stop doing it. I don't love acting anymore, so I've stopped doing it."

She added, "I know 24 is a young age to retire ... I've never written the movies and tv shows I've been a part of. I've only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play."

Reflection is nothing new to the Southern California native. Last December, she'd told Cosmopolitan magazine, "I'm at that stage where I'm still young and maybe naive, but I'm figuring it out."
Bynes can next be seen in the high-school comedy Easy A, due to open Sept. 17.

As the funny everygirl on Nickelodeon's sketch comedy series All That and her self-titled spin-off, Amanda Bynes was hailed as a young Lucille Ball, Gilda Radner and Carol Burnett mixed together. But as she blossomed into adolescence, it became apparent that Bynes not only had comedic chops but the leggy looks of a star.

After leaving The Amanda Show in 2002, the California native moved to primetime with Jennie Garth in the WB sitcom What I Like About You. After four successful seasons, Bynes left with a film career on the up. She headlined teen hits What a Girl Wants and She's the Man before playing Penny Lou Pingleton in the blockbuster movie-musical Hairspray with Zac Efron and Queen Latifah.

Rihanna 'Lives on a Prayer' with Bon Jovi in Madrid

By Simon Perry

"Wait ... Did I just rock out with Bon Jovi tonight???"

Yes, Rihanna, you did! The red-haired singer Tweeted after she was the surprise addition to Bon Jovi's Madrid show Saturday night. She joined the veteran rockers for a rendition of their hit "Living on a Prayer" at an intimate gig in Madrid.

And, the New Jersey rockers didn't let the 1,000-strong crowd at Teatro Circo Price down with a set list including "Wanted Dead or Alive" and their new single "What Do You Got?"

"It was so beautiful. She sang great, she's a sweetheart of a girl. She's a big fan too. It was great," Jon Bon Jovi told PEOPLE at the 17th MTV EMAs Sunday, also in the Spanish capital, where the band received the inaugural Global Icon award.

Performers slated for the show include Kings of Leon, Ke$ha, Kid Rock, Katy Perry and Linkin Park.

Earlier Saturday, Jon Bon Jovi also talked about the band's award – and one of his favorite new artists.

"If Elton John and Madonna had a baby it would be Lady Gaga. I've seen her perform at a number of events. She's a college-trained musician, a student and a fantastic
performer," he said.
"She gives it all that she's got. When she develops with time and continues to work on her sound, she is going to have a really bright future."

Perhaps that's why most rock stars wear shades.

Five Things To Know About Brad Penny
By Rennie Dyball

Dancing with the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff broke the happy news to PEOPLE on Saturday that she and baseball player Brad Penny are engaged.

So, who is this guy?

Dancing fans were quite familiar with Smirnoff's ex fiancé, fellow pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, (the pair called off their engagement last year), but much less is known about Penny, who proposed in October. Want to get to know him a bit better?

1. He's an Oklahoma boy
The strapping pitcher (he's 6'4", 230 lbs.) was born in Blackwell, Okla., and attended Broken Arrow Senior High School. Another well-known alum from the school? Kristin Chenoweth.

2. It's no wonder he could buy her that rock
The 32-year-old presented Smirnoff, also 32, with a 4.5 carat Asscher Cut diamond, but it probably didn't break the bank: As a starting pitcher (with 10 years of experience) for the St. Louis Cardinals, Penny's salary is a reported $7.5 million.

3. He's well-traveled
Before joining the Cardinals, Penny played for the Florida Marlins, the L.A. Dodgers, the Boston Red Sox and the San Francisco Giants.

4. He's got a modest fan base
Currently, Penny's got 1,912 "likes" on his Facebook page, a number that will surely go up now that he’s got a high-profile bride to be.

5. He's got a good sense of humor – and a good heart
In 2005, Sports Illustrated bet 19-year-old Marlins bat boy Nick Cirillo $500 that he couldn't drink a gallon of milk in an hour without throwing up. Cirillo lost the bet and was suspended by his team for six games, but Penny promised to cover his wages and quipped, "It's kind of ridiculous that you get a 10-game suspension for steroids and a six-game suspension for milk."

Which Role Should Leonardo DiCaprio Take from Book to Big Screen?
By Alison Schwartz

Call it book smarts: Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to turn two page-turners into big-screen successes.

The literature at stake? Erik Larson's 2003 The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America and F. Scott Fitzgerald's Great American Novel of 1925, The Great Gatsby.

DiCaprio, 35, recently read for famed director Baz Luhrmann for the role of Jay Gatsby, the millionaire of mystery with an obsessive love for Daisy Buchanan – a role Blake Lively read for.

As for The Devil in the White City, it's a killer role – literally. DiCaprio will produce and star in the movie as deceivingly charming serial killer H.H. Holmes, reports the Hollywood

N.Y. Mayor Bloomberg's Daughter Georgina Injured In Horseback Riding Fall
By Rennie Dyball

Georgina Bloomberg, daughter of New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg, took a scary spill off her horse at the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament on Friday.

The 27-year-old elite equestrian fell from her horse, named Radio City, in the Gambler's Choice class – a high-speed show jumping competition – when her saddle unexpectedly slipped.

"The Mayor is very concerned, as any father would be," Mayor Bloomberg's spokesman, Stu Loeser, told PEOPLE Sunday.

"She was still for a few moments and then got up with some help and walked out of the show ring on her own," says a horse show spectator who witnessed the accident. "Tough kid."

Georgina "was unconscious immediately following the fall and was also diagnosed with a fracture to her spine," said tournament spokesman Kenneth Kraus in a statement. "The complete medical report ... will become more clear following an in-depth examination on Monday."

This isn't the first time the show jumper has suffered a serious injury: According to the New York Daily News, she has previously broken her back, her collarbone, wrists, an ankle, and suffered several concussions. Still, falls in the sport are not uncommon: Many equestrians will cite the phrase, "you're not a real rider until you fall 100 times."

The equestrian was featured in the 2003 HBO documentary Born Rich and regularly competes in the highest level show jumping competitions.

What's Next for Dragon Tattoo Star Noomi Rapace?
By Ulrica Wihlborg

When Noomi Rapace won the role of the gutsy Lisbeth Salander in Stieg Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo films, she knew it would change her life. But not quite the way she expected.

"I thought everyone would hate me!" says Rapace, 30, who transformed herself into an androgynous, punky, chain-smoking computer hacker for the three Swedish movies. "The readers of the books have such a strong relationship with her as a character, I thought they'd never accept what I did with Lisbeth. It felt like a suicide mission to accept the role."

To prepare, Rapace trained kick-boxing four times a week for seven months, dieted, got a motorcycle license, cut her hair and pierced herself a total of six times.

Her 7-year-old son – with Swedish actor Ola Rapace – was at first hesitant about his mom's new look. "For the first movie, he asked me, 'Mom, why do you want to look like a teenage boy?'" she says. "For the last movie, I shaved my head on both sides like a Mohawk. I brought him with me when I did it, because I didn't want to come home and look like Edward Scissorhands and scare him! He sat there and looked at me and said, 'Mom, why are you doing this?' After a while, he said, 'I think it looks good! I want a hairdo like that, too!' That's when I said, 'Stop!'"

Her efforts paid off, and the reaction to her performance was quite the opposite of what she had predicted. Next for Rapace? A role in Guy Richie's Sherlock Holmes sequel, currently filming in London. "I'm so happy to be a part of this movie!" she says. "I'm not allowed to say what it's about. But it's a big honor and joy to be able to work with Robert Downey Jr. We have a lot of fun together! And I've seen all of Guy Richie's movies and he's a brave director."

And she's looking forward to spending more time state side. "I feel you have more freedom to be individualistic here," she says about comparing the U.S. to her native Sweden. "You can be a bit more extreme. It doesn't matter if you walk down the street wearing sunglasses when it's raining. No one cares! It's a wonderful feeling. I love that there's so much tolerance for individuality."

As for the English version of the Dragon Tattoo films? "I'm not sentimental," says Rapace who didn't want to reprise her role in the David Fincher-directed movie, now starring Rooney Mara as Salander. "I wanted to move on. Lisbeth is no longer a part of me and it's completely okay for someone else to become her. I'm sure it changed my personality in many ways. I did everything I could, and I want to continue my path."

Jane Lynch: Sue Sylvester's Getting Married
By Scott Huver

No stranger to wedding bells herself, Jane Lynch's ever-scheming character on Glee, Sue Sylvester, is going to have a surprise wedding, the Emmy-winner tells PEOPLE – who also reveals some other big moments coming to the show, including guest spots by Gwyneth Paltrow and Carol Burnett.

"Sue gets married – that's all I'm going to tell you," Lynch, who tied the knot with psychologist Laura Embry in June, told PEOPLE at BAFTA/LA's Brittania Awards, where Betty White was honored.

"I probably shouldn't have said anything!," added Lynch, who would only say that the TV wedding will take place within the next three or four episodes – and it won't be a big musical blow-out.

Then there's Paltrow’s guest shot: "I did a couple of scenes with Gwyneth. She's got the goods," says Lynch, 50. "She can sing, she can dance. I really was [blown away]. I saw them doing a mash-up of 'Singin' in the Rain' and 'Umbrella,' and they are singing and dancing their hearts out, and Gwyneth is leading them. She's amazing."

As Lynch explained, "She's a substitute teacher for Will [Matthew Morrison]. Will gets the monkey flu and I expose him to it – I turn a sneezing kid on him so that he gets the monkey flu."

The upshot? "So Gwyneth Paltrow is the substitute, and the kids start to all love her. So there's kind of a rivalry between Schue and Gwyneth's character."

As for Sue's relationship with the new sub, "It's friendly – and then, of course, as with all relationships with Sue Sylvester, it turns antagonistic."

Her relationship with Burnett, when the comedy legend appears on the show, turns musical. Burnett will play Sue's Nazi-hunting mother. Says Lynch, an avid Burnett fan: "We sing '[Why, Oh Why, Did I Ever Leave] Ohio' from Wonderful Town, the 1950s musical."

Valerie Bertinelli: Honeymoon First, Wedding Later
By Sara Hammel

Valerie Bertinelli isn't in any rush to get married.

The actress, who became engaged to businessman Tom Vitale last March, isn't rushing down the aisle because she's too busy enjoying her pre-honeymoons.

"One of these days we're going to get married, but we just had an amazing three weeks in Italy, and so now we're planning our second honeymoon for us to actually get married and go again," Bertinelli, 50, told PEOPLE at Thursday's 19th Annual BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards. "We're doing all the honeymoons first."

So far she's revealed the wedding will be small, with likely just the two of them and a witness in attendance, and she says she'll wear black rather than the traditional white gown.

One detail she won't have worry about: fitting into that dress, whatever color it is.

The Hot in Cleveland actress, who famously lost weight on the Jenny Craig diet, says, "I'm not stopping" the program.

"Life just feels easier," she says about managing her weight. "Life just feels not as stressful when I don't have to worry about what I'm putting on in the morning. I know it sounds trite, but to a lot of us women it really does mean a lot when you start the day – you put a pair of jeans on and they don't make you feel like crap." • Reporting by SCOTT HUVER

Miley Cyrus Wants to Spend 18th Birthday with Mom and Dad
By Tim Nudd

It's been a time of family upheaval for Miley Cyrus, whose parents are divorcing. But she sees her upcoming 18th birthday as a chance to get her whole family to spend time together again.

"I'm not going to go crazy – [just] have a fun party and then maybe take a vacation with my family," the pop star, whose birthday is Nov. 23, told MTV Sunday before the MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid. "That would be really cool. I think we need time to all be together."

She doesn't have a place picked out, but is leaning toward some fun in the sun.

"That would be rad if we could all go to the beach or something," she says. "Somewhere near water. I'm a water baby. I have to be near the water, and I love doing scuba and going out and being on a boat."

Cyrus's parents Billy Ray, 49, and Tish, 43, filed for divorce last month after 17 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. Along with Miley, they have four other children: Brandi, 23, Trace, 21, Braison, 16, and Noah, 10.

Miley hasn't been waiting for her birthday to enjoy some quality party time. The singer, who recently split (again) from boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, was photographed having a good time at Madrid's famous Kapital dance club last week.
