Lauren Conrad News

Lauren Conrad confesses that she has no talent: She doesn't act, sing or dance. She's just herself – in front of MTV cameras.

In 2004, Conrad starred on the first two seasons of MTV's hit reality series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. She played the privileged, yet relatable girl-next-door and instantly became a fan favorite. In 2006, she got her own show, The Hills, which followed her as she studied fashion and interned at Teen Vogue in L.A. with other pretty 20-somethings, including Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner and Whitney Port.

In 2007, Conrad became a full-blown TV phenom with the drama-filled third season of The Hills, where she was at the center of a rumored sex tape scandal, an ongoing feud with former BFF Montag, and a debate over the show's authenticity. In 2009, Conrad, who found an off-screen steady in actor Kyle Howard, stepped away from The Hills and concentrated on her fashion and publishing empire.

Lauren Conrad hasn't forgotten her roots.

The former Hills star has become a best-selling author, clothing designer and much buzzed-about fashionista, but she now is returning to the career that made her famous – reality TV star.

Conrad, 24, spoke about starring in a new MTV reality show about her life as a clothing designer on KIIS FM's On Air With Ryan Seacrest Friday. When Seacrest asked if the rumors of her return were true, Conrad coyly said, "It'd be safe to say [yes] . . . It would follow my career, set in L.A."

MTV later confirmed the news to PEOPLE.

Stating she has "no regrets" from her time on The Hills, Conrad's catfights with cast members and drama filled departure has taught her not to mix business with pleasure. "I've always been open to doing reality again. It's just under certain circumstances," she said. "As long as you have a separation then it works. You have your personal life and work life and when it's combined it's difficult." When asked if long time boyfriend, Kyle Howard, 32, would be part of the series Conrad replied, "Kyle would not be in it."

Conrad, who is busy promoting her new book, Sugar and Spice: An L.A. Candy Novel, and clothing line at Kohl's, will jump back into filming in October. Of the series, Conrad promises, "Details will be announced next week and it will be something very, very different."

Julia Roberts

Five Things to Know About
the Woman Julia Roberts
Plays in Eat Pray Love
In the new movie Eat Pray Love, Julia Roberts steals the scene as Liz Gilbert, a globetrotting, hopeless romantic who takes off for Italy, India and Indonesia to find herself. But the character of Gilbert wasn't a composite imagined in Hollywood – you just can't conjure all that carb consumption.

Before you catch the chick flick, meet the real Elizabeth Gilbert, who penned the 2006 bestselling memoir based on her own soul-searching journey.

1. She's Self-Taught
Although she took a few writing classes while attending New York University, Gilbert didn't make her magic happen in a classroom. The author opted to create her own post-graduate writing program. The curriculum? Years of traveling (the country and the world), odds-and-ends jobs (from restaurants to ranches) – and lots of eavesdropping (for inspiration, natch).

"I became Bride-of-Writing," she writes on her personal Web site. "I was writing's most devotional handmaiden. I built my entire life around writing. I didn't know how else to do this. I didn't know anyone who had ever become a writer. I had no, as they say, connections. I had no clues. I just began."

2. She Used to be (Coyote) Ugly
Before writing Eat Pray Love, Gilbert tended bar at the Coyote Ugly Saloon in Manhattan's East Village. Her 1997 essay detailing her experiences at the downtown dive, "The Muse of the Coyote Ugly Saloon," was published in GQ magazine, and her article made the bar a household name. Coyote Ugly was later the setting for the 2000 romantic comedy, titled Coyote Ugly.

3. Julia Leaves Her Star-Struck
When Gilbert first met the actress who was playing out her story on the big screen, she couldn't help but gush: "I feel so dorky, but there's nothing to prepare you for Julia's face," she told PEOPLE in January. "For the first five minutes, I kept saying, 'You're really pretty!' "

And she wouldn't have it any other way: "It's hard to imagine that it could have been anybody but Julia because she's so loveable, and you need to care about the character to want to watch her go through all that," Gilbert says. "She's good at making people care about her."

4. She Married a Character in Her Book
There's "Love" in her book title for a reason: The man Gilbert falls for at the close of her tome, Filipe, the hunky, charming Brazilian importer, wasn't a fling. She and he (real name: José Nunes) tied the knot in February 2007, and the couple now run an antique store near their home in Frenchtown, N.J.

"I remember when I met my husband, and there came this kind of awkward moment in our burgeoning relationship that I was writing a book about everything that was happening to me this year and that he appeared to be happening to me, and how did he feel about me writing about this in the book?" she tells PEOPLE. "He's such a private person. And he said, 'What would it entail?' I said, 'Don't worry – no one reads my books. Nobody will read this.' "

5. She Cried When She Saw the Movie
"I saw it a couple of months ago – it's so lovely," she tells PEOPLE. "I had asked [the studio] if we could watch it alone, just because I couldn't anticipate what our emotional reaction would be, and I thought it would be better if we had some privacy. It's a good thing we did because we were both really teary and kind of weepy."

Julia Roberts won over audiences with her signature smile, booming laugh and red curls playing a loveable prostitute in Pretty Woman. But it was her role as a passionate crusader in Erin Brockovich that earned her an Oscar and made her the highest-paid actress at the time.

Any romantic comedy Roberts touched seemed to turn to box office gold, but it was her love life that kept fans intrigued. Roberts was engaged to Dylan McDermott and Kiefer Sutherland, married briefly to country singer Lyle Lovett and dated Benjamin Bratt for several years before marrying cameraman Danny Moder in 2002. Since giving birth to twins in 2004, she's taken on fewer film roles and welcomed another child in 2007.

Jordin Sparks

Jordin Sparks Weighs Getting
Serious with Boyfriend
Could Jordin Sparks be ready to take her relationship with close pal, singer-songwriter and ex-model Steph Jones to the next level?

"We don't know whether or not to go further or to just keep the friendship," the singer, 19, told PEOPLE Tuesday night at the 57th Annual BMI Pop Awards in Beverly Hills, where Jones was her date. "It's crazy. We've got the feelings, but we don't know whether or not to say it out loud."

One thing is for sure: The fellow keeps her feeling bubbly. "He's a really good guy," Sparks says. "A lot of fun." So how did the two initially link? Sparks proudly admits she was the one who made the first move.

Met Two Years Ago
"I met him two years ago," she recalls. "He was writing for Blake [Lewis], who got second place [on the sixth season of American Idol]. I was like, 'Can I get your contact information because you are a songwriter?' I was still working on my album and he was the only person I knew in L.A., so every time I would come I would say, 'Hey, you want to hang out?' "

And hang out they did. "My parents have met him and everything already," she says. Recently the pair have been seen cheering at the May 6 Lakers vs. Rockets basketball game at the Staples Center and slow dancing to Michael Buble's live rendition of "Me and Mrs. Jones" during the Gamble and Huff icon tribute at the BMI Pop Awards. "We've gotten really close," Sparks confirms.

For now, whether the two will start dating officially is still up in the air. "We'll see what happens," says Sparks. Until then, one thing is certain: She will tour with the Jonas Brothers starting June 20 in Dallas.
Jordin Sparks anxiously waited four years to audition for American Idol because she was only 12 when the show first aired. But once she turned 16 – the minimum age requirement for Idol contestants – Sparks blew the judges away with her rendition of Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me," eventually taking the crown as the youngest Idol winner in history.

Although Sparks is just old enough to legally drive, the Arizona-raised powerhouse isn't a rookie to fame: Her famous father Phillippi played cornerback in the NFL for the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys. The talented teen previously auditioned for Star Search, but TV juggernaut American Idol made the bubbly beauty a household name.

Jessica Szohr

Jessica Szohr Bakes
with Grandma
For Jessica Szohr, the holidays officially start a week before Christmas when she visits her grandmother Karen Szohr in Milwaukee and helps bakes batches of cookies alongside her cousins.

"We all sit around the table and work while listening to Christmas music," says the Gossip Girl star, 25. "It's so much fun!" Even if there's a strict no-tasting policy during the annual bake fest. "If everybody got to eat, there would be no cookies!" adds Karen, 65.

Though Szohr admits she's still an amateur baker, she's learning: "I have to carry on this tradition or Christmas wouldn't be the same."

With her gorgeous looks and downtown style, Jessica Szohr has wooed both Nate Archibald and Dan Humphrey as Brooklynite Vanessa Abrams on Gossip Girl. But it's her real-life romance with costar Ed Westwick that has Gossip lovers captivated.

The former model from Milwaukee first made her mark on TV audiences as Barry Watson's sexy neighbor and love interest Laura on ABC's What About Brian. With her GG fame came her spot on PEOPLE's Most Beautiful and Best Dressed lists, as well as her box-office shot in 2010's Piranha 3-D.

Lindsay Lohan

Praised by Meryl Streep and compared to screen legend Diane Keaton, Lindsay Lohan declared at 20 that she wanted to win an Oscar by 30. Instead, by 24, she completed numerous stints in rehab and was arrested for driving under the influence twice.

As a freckled-faced youngster, Lohan delighted Disney audiences with her dual roles in The Parent Trap, and kept the family friendly hits coming with Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and the 2004 teen blockbuster Mean Girls. But the burgeoning It Girl soon ditched her PG-persona in pursuit of a fast-track lifestyle, which tarnished her work reputation and halted her promising career.

Most recently, the troubled starlet's hard-partying ways and substance abuse has landed her back in jail and rehab.

Lindsay Lohan's rocky relationship with her father may be on the mend.

Sources say father and daughter met recently at the Betty Ford Center, where Lindsay is staying for court-ordered rehab. "She's taking things seriously and she's really had a lot of success so far," says a friend of Lohan. "This is a long road for her with many issues she has to work through. But she's ready to tackle things."

Adds the friend: "Lindsay is now open to working on things with her father. It's a part of her recovery."

Michael Lohan also told PEOPLE after the visit that his daughter, who has struggled with substance abuse problems, is heading in the right direction. "I thank God that she is in the place that she is in now," he said. "And I love her and I am very, very, proud of how far she has come. Really, really proud."

For Lindsay, mending fences with her estranged dad is an important step in the rehabilitation process, a source tells PEOPLE.

"Lindsay really needed to hear it from her counselors how important it was for her to have a relationship with her dad," the source says. "They spent quality time together talking alone."

The Lohan clan, including Lindsay's mother Dina, are expected to show up next week for family day at the center, a time set aside to be "more a healing thing and a bonding thing," according to the source.

And Lindsay's latest stint in rehab seems to be doing her some good, the source adds.

"Lindsay seems totally more clear headed and more focused," the source says. "She's not looking at the future as much as she is the day now. It's day by day with her. Although, she's interested in working, she's more interested in just getting her life together. And she does realize that when she gets out that's going to be a big test for her."

Lindsay's mother Dina Lohan also made strides recently when she finally admitted her daughter is an addict, and said she supported Lindsay's reconciling with her father. "Whatever the facility wishes for her," she said. "It's all about Lindsay and her healing."

LeAnn Rimes

FIRST LISTEN: LeAnn
Rimes's 'Crazy Women'
After a slew of salacious headlines, LeAnn Rimes is hitting a lighter note with her upbeat, tongue-in-cheek new song, "Crazy Women."

In the spirit of Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats," Rimes sings of crazy women (and the men who make them that way) on the new track, which hits radio Monday and will appear on her new album, Lady and Gentlemen, due early next year.

The single is "just such a fun song to sing along and laugh with," Rimes said in a statement. The Grammy-winning artist reinterprets classic country songs on the album, singing from a woman's perspective.

"After completing this album of songs by some of the most infamous men in country music to drive women crazy in love, I thought this song was perfect [for] the album," she added.

A 13-year-old LeAnn Rimes took the music world by storm in 1996 with the release of "Blue." Compared by critics to Patsy Cline, the little girl with the big voice sold 37 million albums and amassed two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music honors and 12 Billboard Awards – all before the age of 25.

After she won unwanted attention in 2000 with a series of legal battles against her father, former manager, and record label, Rimes seemed destined for the crash-and-burn trajectory of other child stars. But she redirected her focus and found stability with dancer Dean Sheremet, whom she married in 2002. But just months after celebrating her seventh wedding anniversary, Rimes had an affair with married costar Eddie Cibrian, leading to the end of both of their marriages.

Olga Kurylenko is classy

The http://last-celeb-news.blogspot.com/ coverstar and former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko has done a very sexy photoshoot for complex magazine. She’s all smoky eyed and lovely. The 30-year-old is one of those astoundingly beautiful creatures that has the ability to make you look away in shock, a bit like when you dick about with those really powerful torches in B&Q with the power of a million candles.

But she’s really great, we watched Hitman last night, best thing in it by far…She’s got loads of films coming up proving she’s not one of those Bond girls that does her thing then disappears, one is called There Be Dragons, and dragons are rarely a bad thing. She’s also in Centurion as a sort of metal but hot sword wielding queen.

The hardcore hottie can handle herself in real life as well, “I don't know if I can really kick ass. I'd only know if I found myself in a situation where I had to do it. I know that I'm pretty good at fighting because I did dancing when I was a kid, so I'm quite flexible. When I was a kid, I came to the ballet school and did a split right away.” Gulp, look at this gallery.

Kissing girls? Katy Perry’s at it again

Katy Perry kissed a girl and liked it, but we weren’t there to see it, so that was largely selfish and pointless.

Now, keen to atone for her selfish behaviour, she’s lining up some more lady lollygagging.

“I used to want to kiss Megan Fox, but now she’s married and I’m not so sure about that anymore. Probably Natalie Portman now – she’s hot and smart.”

Irina Shayk is leggy

Ronaldo’s 24-year-old girlfriend is really attractive in that kind of way that makes you feel ever so slightly sad inside. But that’s because you’re old. If you look at the little kid (circled) he’s more shocked, he quite grasp what he’s seeing, he’s having feelings he’s never felt before. And rightly so, as Irina, born Irina Shaykhlislamova Salavat, Bashkortostan, Russia, is phenomenal. After winning the 2004 "Miss Chelyabinsk" beauty pageant, a scout recommended Shayk pursue a career as a model, it makes sense doesn’t it? In 2007, she became the face of knicker company Intimissimi. She’s also appeared in Sports Ilustrated and modeled for Victoria’s Secret. She’s so hot we can almost forgiver her for going out with Euro super douche Ronaldo.

Emily Blunt is blunt

27-year-old Emily Blunt has done a sexy but tasteful photoshoot for Elle magazine. star who’s preternaturally beautiful gave a very sexy but tasteful interview where she said she doesn’t like being air brushed. She said…”I don't like it when they stretch you out and make you all long and skinny. It makes you look like a Barbie. Who the hell looks like that?” Dunno, Barbie? And the Mattel corporation?
Emily recently married American actor John Krasinski, 30, one of the stars of the US version of The Office. The couple live in Los Angeles but Emily, who grew up in south west London, said even though she loves it there, she won’t forget blighty “I feel very transatlantic. I shoot in England all the time, and I’m really close to my family and friends there. I know that maybe there’s a perception that I’ve abandoned what’s true to me but I still maintain it and I never want to look like I’m disregarding where I came from. British people pretend to hate LA but they completely love it. I’m going back on Thursday and I’m so excited. I get to swim in a pool.” We went to LA once, bit hot. Nothing singles you out as British like swearing like a sailor and slathering on three inches of emulsion.
