• A dressed-up Lauren Conrad arrived early to MyStudio in L.A. to support a friend who was deejaying at the popular nightspot. The reality star and her friends took over a table by the deejay booth and immediately began chatting and giggling with each other. They also cheered when their favorite song – "California Gurls" by Katy Perry – was played. Conrad, who rarely hits the clubs anymore, said hi to friends after taking a lap around the room, and also requested songs from her pal at the turntables.

• Emmy nominee Jon Hamm and his Mad Men castmates January Jones, Christina Hendricks and John Slattery, celebrating their new season with a bash at Yxta Cocina Mexicana in downtown L.A. Hamm was looking dapper as ever, and was seated near Slattery at a private table, where they drank margaritas.

• Ashton Kutcher is still focused on his fitness! The actor, in all white, took an early evening jog alone down L.A.'s Runyon Canyon.

• Heather Locklear, picking up a late-afternoon lunch at Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop in Beverly Hills. The actress, who was with two friends, grabbed a turkey sandwich – plus two salads – to-go, lingering on the restaurant's patio before hitting the road.

• Chloe Sevigny polished off an early dinner of salad on the patio of West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont. She also sipped a clear beverage from a wine glass, using a straw, as she chatted with her male dinner companion before taking off around 9 p.m.

Gaga, known for her outrageous outfits and killer heels, is the No. 1 most-requested celebrity Halloween costume in America, followed by the guidos and the guidettes of The Jersey Shore.

"Lady Gaga and Jersey Shore have been our top sellers," said an employee at the novelty store Ricky's NY. "Of the Shore cast, Snooki has been the top. Everyone is coming in to find black wigs and Bump-Its."

Adds Kristin Stroud of Campus Costume in Bloomington, Ind., "A lot of people have been buying orange body paint from us for their Snooki costume."

With many wacky Gaga outfits to choose from, expect lots of leather leotards, artistic headpieces, fishnets, and – for the daring trick or treaters – possibly a spin on the infamous meat dress worn by the singer at the 2010 VMAs.

"We also sold a lot of Lady Gaga accessories. The sunglasses were the top seller," said sales associate Shavon Henry of Party City in Dallas.

Another pop princess on the scene this Halloween is Katy Perry. The newlywed's blue wig worn in her California Gurls video is especially popular – as are The Town nun masks and Toy Story characters.

Jessica Simpson's fiancé went to great lengths to hide her three-stone ruby engagement ring.

"He had the ring in his shoe at my house somewhere," Jessica Simpson said on SIRIUS XM's The Morning Mash Up in an interview airing Dec. 2. "I was like: Why hide it in a shoe? But it worked. I had no idea."

Almost as surprising as Eric Johnson's Nov. 11 proposal was that Simpson's family didn't spill the beans.

"He had talked to my mom and dad and my sister three weeks before he asked me," she says. "I can't believe all the Simpsons kept a secret."

The singer was in the middle of watching Parenthood when Johnson, 31, asked her to pause the show so he could pop the question.

"He got down on his knee and I had to sit down on it because I was so shocked," said Simpson, 31. "I was … short of breath. It was definitely one of those moments where I've never felt that way before, ever."

Simpson, who has a new holiday album Happy Christmas coming out, is looking forward to getting back into the studio to make another pop record, but admits that "music is definitely my number two priority next to love."

Jenny McCarthy has figured out the key to a happy relationship with new boyfriend Jason Toohey: honesty – and lots of it.

"I have been so open and truthful in this relationship – it is amazing," she tells PEOPLE at a signing of her new book, Love, Lust & Faking It: The Naked Truth About Sex, Lies and True Romance, Friday at Miami's Epic Hotel.

"If he wants Chinese [food] and I don't, I say it," she says. "If he wants to go out and I want to stay in and watch Dancing with the Stars, I tell him so … Sometimes we both want to play poker and we have a blast at home."

Adds McCarthy, 37, "Our relationship is stronger because of the honesty."

Part of this newfound self-assurance came after breaking up with longtime boyfriend Jim Carrey and beginning to think about her book.

"I got the book deal the same time Jim and I split after five years together,” McCarthy says. "While researching and writing it, I looked inside of myself and began to see what was wrong with me instead of blaming him for everything."

"I was a girl who pretended. I would say I liked things when I didn't," she says. "I knew if I wanted to grow, I needed to make myself happy before I could begin to have an equal relationship with another man."

And life with Toohey, 35, a Las Vegas-based pirate performer, is good indeed.

"With Jason, I went in with all of my chips laid out," she says. "He respected that and saw the life in me. And, so far, it is working well."

McCarthy is also pretty busy. In addition to her new book, she's readying a talk show for Oprah's Harpo Studios, which begins shooting in April.

"I am so pleased with everything in my career and personal life right now," she says. "I am staying with Jason because I am happy. If that should change, I will simply leave. I trust my own happiness – and I will follow my own emotional guide."

Jenny McCarthy could have been just another pretty Playboy centerfold, but the former model used her uninhibited humor to kick-start a multiplatform career – that even got Oprah Winfrey's stamp of approval!

The Chicago native dropped out of nursing school at 19, nabbed Playboy's Playmate of the Year at 21 and broke out as the star of MTV's dating show, Singled Out, at 22. The '90s It girl even landed her own NBC sitcom, but it was her frank discussion about pregnancy and motherhood in her best-selling books that landed her a talk show deal with Oprah.

"I could not even begin to fathom their thought process," Anne Hathaway told PEOPLE of Oscar producers' choice of her and James Franco to be the co-hosts of the Academy Awards next year.

Not that she isn't grateful. Asked if she's excited about co-hosting one of the world's most-watched telecasts, she replied with an enthusiastic, "Yes!"

Speaking with PEOPLE on her way to the 20th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards, hosted by Euphoria Calvin Klein, in New York on Monday, the actress, 28, added that she's thrilled to be paired with Franco, 32. "Beyond," she said. "I can't go into anything about it ... just that I'm doing it with him."

Still, she can't speak for the producers about why they chose her. "You'd have to ask them," she said.

For their part, Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer, producers of the ABC telecast, had this to say about their hosts: "We hope to create an Oscar broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world on Feb. 27."

Kim Zolciak Not Engaged – For Now

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak is indeed pregnant, but rumors of an engagement are not true, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Despite reports that Zolciak’s boyfriend, Atlanta Falcons defensive end Kroy Biermann (with whom she's expecting), had popped the question with a large ring, "She is definitely not engaged at this time," her rep insists.

That's not to say that the expectant mom isn't thinking about marriage. Sources close to Zolciak say the Bravo reality star, 32, hopes to marry Biermann, 25, but that she's not in any rush to walk down the aisle.

Once we were putting out the bins in our dressing gown, when suddenly it fell open, revealing more scrotal manhood then it is desirable to display in a cul-de-sac on a Thursday morning. This is when an unscrupulous pap snapped our wardrobe malfunction and then the next day, it was all over Heat magazine!Of course none of this ever happened. Well, we did have a dressing gown mishap, but it only shocked old Mrs. Henderson who lives across the road, rather than the national press. Thankfully Sophie Monk was snapped by some wiley photographers, which - judging by the look of utter disgust on her face in the pictures - she detested.

Stereotypically men tend to get a bit excited when you mention twins, we don't know why, well the idea of two sexy woman, instead of one is probably the main reason. But if they actually start kissing each other then that's incest, like proper hilly billy slack jawed incest, which isn't sexy. At all.

Alex Jones is replacing Christine Bleakley to present the One Show, and they both kind of look like eachother. You could almost say they're like identical twins. Which brings us back to our original point about twins and how excited men get about them. Well, unless it's this kind of Twins. Which frankly, no one wants to see.
According to the Daily Mail, Alex Jones had some raunchy pictures taken of her whilst she was trying to get famous. They're not that raunchy and if anything, they're only going to help people be more interested in who the hell she is. Poor Cheryl Cole is terrified that Nicole Scherzinger wants her X-Factor seat for keeps. We'd give up our seat for Cheryl. But, there again, if we were Nicole, we'd never leave the house. Which would probably prevent us becoming an X-Factor judge in the first place.

Cheryl had wanted Girls Aloud chum Kimberly Walsh to keep her seat warm – mmm, we’ll bank that image for later… – but Nicole got the nod and has proved an instant hit with Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.

Now with her first major film role in Piranha 3D on it’s way, the 30-year-old Brooks career looks to be going to the next level. Kelly has got some stick for her role in the fish based horror as she spends most of it in a bikini, but she dismisses it. “If people want to cast me in roles for my body or how I look, I’m just doing to embrace that because that’s not going to be the case forever,' Brook said. 'It doesn’t make me any less important than anyone else in the movie just because I’m in a bikini. That’s just the role I play. It’s as much a part of the story as the piranhas and everything else.”

Perhaps looking to follow in the footsteps of former FHM covergirl Cat Deeley, Brook has hit the streets of LA hard and already has two more films lined up for next year.
