Carrie Underwood & Mike Fisher Put Babies on Hold
By Tim Nudd

She only just got married, but already Carrie Underwood is getting grilled about the next big milestone with husband Mike Fisher.

"Whenever you're dating someone, it's like, 'When are they getting married? When are they getting married?' " the country star, 27, tells ET Canada. "As soon as you get married, [it's], 'When are you having babies?' "

The short answer: Not very soon.

"We are not planning on it for a while," Underwood says. "We both want to enjoying being married. I don't think it would be fair to our kid to bring a child into our lives right now. We both need to slow down first, and we don't want to right now."

Not that things always work out as planned, of course. "You never know what God has in store, and you can make all the plans you want to," she says. "But at the end of the day, whatever's going to happen is going to happen."

For now, married life is going wonderfully, even with the cultural differences between herself and her handsome Canadian hockey-player husband, 30. "I'm Southern, small town, and we do things differently," she says. "But it's nice. If I married someone like me, that would be no fun."

And Canada has welcomed the Oklahoma native warmly. "Everyone has been super wonderful, and everyone has opened their arms to me, in Ottawa and his home town of Peterborough," she says. "It's been a lot of fun."
