Miley Cyrus Wants to Spend 18th Birthday with Mom and Dad
By Tim Nudd
It's been a time of family upheaval for Miley Cyrus, whose parents are divorcing. But she sees her upcoming 18th birthday as a chance to get her whole family to spend time together again.
"I'm not going to go crazy – [just] have a fun party and then maybe take a vacation with my family," the pop star, whose birthday is Nov. 23, told MTV Sunday before the MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid. "That would be really cool. I think we need time to all be together."
She doesn't have a place picked out, but is leaning toward some fun in the sun.
"That would be rad if we could all go to the beach or something," she says. "Somewhere near water. I'm a water baby. I have to be near the water, and I love doing scuba and going out and being on a boat."
Cyrus's parents Billy Ray, 49, and Tish, 43, filed for divorce last month after 17 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. Along with Miley, they have four other children: Brandi, 23, Trace, 21, Braison, 16, and Noah, 10.
Miley hasn't been waiting for her birthday to enjoy some quality party time. The singer, who recently split (again) from boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, was photographed having a good time at Madrid's famous Kapital dance club last week.
